Unitree to Ship 20,000 Humanoid Robots in 2026 After Gala Spotlight
February 17, 2026
Unitree Robotics from China plans to ship up to 20,000 humanoid robots in 2026. This is a big jump from about 5,500 robots shipped in 2025. The news came after Unitree's robots wowed audiences at the Spring Festival Gala, a major Lunar New Year event. CEO Wang Xingxing told the tech outlet 36Kr that global humanoid robot shipments might reach tens of thousands this year. Unitree expects to contribute between 10,000 and 20,000 units. At the Gala, their G1 robots stunned viewers with complex kung fu moves performed “fully autonomously.” They also jumped from trampolines and climbed walls. The robots could do trampoline somersaults reaching three metres high and run at speeds up to four metres per second (about 14 km/h). Wang said these robot innovations are “very practical” and will help in large-scale robot deployment soon. He also revealed a robot fall during the show was planned as part of the act. This success highlights Unitree's fast progress in humanoid robotics technology and its leadership role in China's robotics industry.
