At least 14 security personnel and three civilians, including a child, died in two bomb attacks and a gunfight in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Militants targeted a checkpoint and police station, officials said. In Bajaur district, militants drove an explosive-laden vehicle into a wall near a checkpoint. This blast killed 11 security members and one young girl. The explosion caused "severe destruction" to nearby homes and injured seven others, according to a military statement cited by AFP. A security official told AFP the vehicle hit a religious college's wall. In Bannu town, a bomb hidden in a rickshaw exploded at the Miryan police station, killing two civilians and wounding 17. Elsewhere in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Shangla district, a search operation led to the death of three police personnel and three militants. The police said the militants were involved in "attacks targeting Chinese nationals." Chinese projects have faced attacks amid local resentment, despite billions in investment by Beijing in Pakistan.
