Cuddalore Police Inspector Dismissed for Neglecting Duty in Fatal Clash Case
February 17, 2026
An Inspector of Police in Cuddalore district, Jaishankar, has been dismissed from service for dereliction of duty. The dismissal order came from Deputy Inspector General of Police, Villupuram Range, A. Arularasu, after a detailed departmental inquiry. Jaishankar was serving at Sethiyathoppu police station at the time. Earlier, he served in Kanjanur police station, Villupuram district, in 2022. The charge against him was failing to conduct a proper investigation into a clash between two groups at Kedar, which resulted in one person's death. After the incident, he was suspended and transferred to Sethiyathoppu in Cuddalore. There were several other complaints against him as well. The inquiry led to his dismissal from duty.
