DNA on glove found near Nancy Guthrie's home did not match any records, police confirm

DNA found on a glove about two miles from Nancy Guthrie’s house did not lead to any suspect, officials confirmed on Tuesday. The FBI said on Sunday that unknown male DNA was discovered on a glove similar to one worn by the suspect in surveillance footage the night 84-year-old Nancy disappeared.
However, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed the DNA did not match any records in the FBI database. It also did not match any DNA from Guthrie’s home. “We’re hopeful that we’re always getting closer, but the news now, I think, is we had heard this morning that, of course, the DNA on the glove that was found two miles away was submitted for Codis [Combined DNA Index System]. And I just heard that, Codis had no hits,” Nanos said.
Since there was no match, the DNA sample will likely be entered into commercial genealogy databases to find any possible leads. The probe into Nancy Guthrie’s case is now in its third week.
Nancy’s daughter, TV anchor Savannah Guthrie, made a public plea on Monday: "It is never too late to do the right thing" and urged anyone involved to return her mother safely.
Former US President Donald Trump also commented on the case. In a New York Post interview, he said he would want the Justice Department to seek the death penalty if Nancy Guthrie was killed. “I would want the abductors to face ‘very, very severe – the most severe’ consequences,” Trump said. When asked if he meant the death penalty, he confirmed, “The most, yeah – that’s true.”
