Over 1 Lakh Devotees Take Part in Chakrateertham Festival at Srimukhalingam Temple

On Wednesday, more than one lakh devotees gathered for the annual Chakrateertham festival near the Srimukhalingam temple in Srikakulam district. The festival saw pilgrims taking a holy bath in the sacred Vamsadhara river. They also offered prayers to the processional deities, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati Devi. The event included a procession that covered nearly four kilometres, starting from the temple premises to the river. Many devotees joined this vibrant march. Srimukhalingam head priest Naidugari Rajasekhar and other priests performed abhisekham rituals on the deities and managed the festival arrangements. Police made thorough security plans along the procession route and near the river to ensure safety and prevent any incidents.
