The State Task Force of the Excise Department arrested B. Vikash Sharma for selling thandai mixed with ganja-infused chocolates in Hyderabad’s old city. Sharma, from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, operated in Begum Bazaar selling regular thandai at ₹50 per glass and a special ganja-mixed drink for ₹150 per glass. Acting on a tip-off, the STF raided his home in Uppuguda under Charminar excise limits. Officials seized 1,920 ganja chocolates weighing 9.6 kilograms. Sharma admitted to mixing about five grams of ganja in each chocolate. The chocolates were brought from Agra to meet high demand during Holi. The accused, along with the contraband and a two-wheeler used in the operation, was handed to Charminar Excise Station for legal action.
