The Excise arrested Shefeeq Ummer, a junior film actor from Thiroorangadi, Malappuram, early Wednesday morning. Officials caught him during a city check with 52 litres of liquor. This included 15 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor and 58 bottles of beer (37.7 litres). The Excise seized a car he allegedly used to transport liquor. According to the Excise, Ummer sold liquor illegally after midnight. He found customers through a network of youth and taxi drivers he had befriended. He is known for his role in the film Action Hero Biju. Excise sources said an investigation is ongoing to find how he sourced such large amounts of alcohol.
