The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has decided to postpone the dharna scheduled for Friday in front of the Secretariat. The protest was meant to demand that small hospitals be exempted from Kerala's Clinical Establishments Act (KCE Act). IMA State leaders announced on Wednesday that the dharna is postponed after talks with Health Minister Veena George. The minister assured them that the IMA's suggestions about implementing the KCE Act will be carefully considered. This step has temporarily eased tensions between the medical community and the state government on the act's enforcement.
