Hyderabad was buzzing on Saturday as Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy proudly handed over appointment letters to freshly selected Group 1 officers. This came after a long, 13-year gap since the last recruitment in undivided Andhra Pradesh! Speaking at the event, CM Reddy didn't hold back. He announced, "I am going to bring in a law—if you don’t take care of your parents, I will deduct 10 per cent of your salary and deposit it in your parents’ account." His message was loud and clear: take care of your parents, or face a cut in your earnings! He also warmly congratulated the proud parents, saying, "Your dreams are going to come true." The CM urged everyone present to look after their parents properly. But the session wasn’t just celebrations. Reddy fired sharp arrows at the previous BRS government. He claimed they "betrayed the youth," despite promising to fulfill the dreams of the six-decade-long Telangana statehood struggle. He slammed them for not holding the Group 1 recruitment exams in the 10 years since Telangana became a state in 2014. “Have they fulfilled the hopes of those who sacrificed their lives for Telangana?” he questioned. He also made a stinging allegation that BRS had appointed Registered Medical Practitioners as members of the State Public Service Commission, the body responsible for choosing Group 1 officers. Adding spice to his speech, Reddy hinted at secret conspiracies by some coaching centres that made money off aspirants’ long years of preparation. He reminded the new officers to remember who filed court cases challenging the exam process and who spent big on lawyers to slow down the recruitment. With fire in his eyes, he told the newly recruited 562 officers—selected through the Group 1 exam conducted last year—to work hard and build a bright future for Telangana. It was a day of joy, bold promises, and sharp political shots! The Telangana government looks eager to change gears and bring in fresh laws and opportunities for its people.
