Drama unfolds off the cricket pitch! The Shiv Sena-UBT, led by Uddhav Thackeray, stirred the pot by opposing the live screenings of the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup final in Mumbai and other Maharashtra areas. The buzz started when the party announced on X that PVR INOX cancelled all shows of the much-awaited match after their leader Akhil Chitre’s appeal. "The cricket match between India and Pakistan is a mockery of the sentiments of the Indian public," the Shiv Sena-UBT tweeted, revealing that Chitre had discussions with PVR management that led to this surprising move. Not stopping there, Akhil Chitre proudly posted on X, "Once again, it is proven that Shiv Sena - yesterday, today, and tomorrow — can influence not just Mumbai and Maharashtra, but the whole of Hindustan!" The match itself is a historic day, as India and Pakistan meet for the Asia Cup final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium for the first time in the tournament's 41-year history. These cricket rivals have been locked in battle recently, facing off twice before with India winning both matches — first by seven wickets on September 14 and then by six wickets on September 21. But thanks to Shiv Sena-UBT’s fiery stand, fans in Mumbai and Maharashtra’s PVR INOX theatres won’t get to watch the thriller live on the big screen.
