A big blow strikes the New York Giants! Cam Skattebo, the fresh face running back, got hurt badly against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, October 26. Right in the middle of the second quarter, Cam’s ankle took a terrible hit. ESPN reports it was a dislocated right ankle – a scary injury! He was quickly taken off the field and sent to the hospital for checks. The injury was so bad that his foot twisted in a strange direction, reported NJ.com. What’s next for Cam? Physical therapy guru and fantasy football injury expert Dr. Jeff Mueller gave a grim update on X: “Right Ankle Dislocation + fracture concern. Season done. Hopefully not too much ligament damage but always a concern for that.” Another specialist, Dr. Eric Friedman, who worked with US ski and snowboarding teams, also shared: “Cam Skattebo with an open fracture here of his tibia. He is done for the year and has multiple surgeries in his future. Will get a wash out today. If no infection, can be ready for Week 1 next season.” Clearly, Cam’s 2024 season looks over. Before this setback, rookie Skattebo was shining bright! He had rushed for 398 yards with five touchdowns and caught 23 passes totaling 198 yards along with a touchdown, according to NJ.com. That’s some amazing rookie performance. Skattebo was picked 105th overall in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. In college at Arizona State Sun Devils, he played 25 games, racking up 2,494 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns. He even threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns! Now with Cam out, the Giants will depend on Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary to carry the load. This injury is a tough moment for Giants fans. Will Cam bounce back stronger next season? Time will tell, but for now, the rookie's NFL debut year ends in heartbreak.
