Twitch, the popular streaming platform owned by Amazon, is buzzing with news! Michelle Scully, Twitch’s Global Head of Communications, is leaving her role after just 18 months. This is a big change for the company as it faces fast changes in the world of creators and entertainment. Before joining Twitch in March 2024, Michelle was a star communicator at Amazon Studios and helped handle communications for Amazon Devices and Alexa. With over a decade at Edelman, she brought amazing storytelling and brand reputation skills to Twitch. During her time at Twitch, Michelle shaped how the platform talks to its huge global audience, media, and fans. She made Twitch’s voice stronger in today’s fast-moving digital world. On LinkedIn, she shared, “After an incredible journey at Twitch, I’ve made the difficult decision to move on and pursue a new opportunity. Leaving is bittersweet — working at Twitch is the best job I’ve ever had, and I’ve loved being part of such an amazing team and community.” With Michelle’s exit, Twitch is now on the hunt for a new communications leader. The new boss will keep building Twitch’s image, not just in gaming but also in wider entertainment and culture. Twitch says their new hire will be the one to "define how Twitch shows up from traditional media and podcasts, to community forums and the countless places where internet culture is made and conversation happens in real time." The role reports to CMO Rachel Delphin and can be based in San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, New York City, or Irvine. This job is crucial because Twitch wants to stay true to its community roots while growing big in mainstream media. Michelle has laid a solid foundation, and the new leader must keep Twitch’s voice authentic and strong during this exciting new chapter. Stay tuned for more updates on Twitch’s next big move!
