Panaji/Calangute: Goa’s stunning beaches can be tricky, with sudden rip currents catching swimmers off guard. But fear not! Drishti Marine lifesavers turned heroes this weekend by rescuing 11 lives from drowning across Goa’s coastline. They showed great bravery conducting four double rescues and three single rescues, plus the heartwarming tracing of a missing child at Arambol beach, North Goa. The drama kicked off at Baga beach where Subham Paik, a lifesaver, spotted a 21-year-old man from Tamil Nadu struggling in a powerful rip current. Without hesitation, Subham dove in and pulled him to safety. Not far away at Calangute beach, two lifesavers, Vinod Gaonkar and Subham Mukhiya, teamed up to save a 42-year-old man from Karnataka. Using a rescue board and tube, they brought the man safely back to shore. But that was just the start! At Candolim beach, two young men aged 19 and 20 from Hubli, Karnataka, went into deep water and got caught in the fierce rip current. Lifesaver Saifhul Baidya raced to their aid with a rescue board and expertly saved both. The heroics continued at Morjim beach, where two male tourists from Haryana and Bihar were rescued from the slippery clutch of drowning. Meanwhile, at Agonda beach, a man and a woman from Bengaluru also got caught in dangerous waters but the lifeguards ensured they reached the shore unharmed. Adding to this incredible weekend, rescues were also carried out at the famous Dudhsagar waterfalls, proving Drishti Marine’s dedication beyond beaches. From tourist hotspots to natural wonders, these lifesavers’ vigilance and courage kept Goa safe and sound. Next time you visit Goa’s waters, remember the incredible Drishti Marine team ready to jump into action!
