A private bus carrying between 20-30 people, who were returning from a wedding reception, had a shocking escape from disaster late Thursday night at Mahalingapuram in Shankarpally. Around midnight on November 28, 2025, the bus traveling from Vikarabad to Hyderabad was hit head-on by a speeding car coming from the opposite direction. The collision was caused by rash and careless driving. A police official from Shankarpally said, "The car driver was driving in a rash and negligent manner and collided head-on with the bus. The impact sparked a fire, damaging the car and the front portion of the bus." The driver of the car was quickly taken to a nearby hospital but has since been discharged and is out of danger. Meanwhile, the fire that started after the crash was quickly controlled by alert local police officers and onlookers. Their fast action stopped the blaze from causing more damage or harming the passengers inside the bus. Police are still checking if the car driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
