In a gripping tale of justice and tension, Salman, a 23-year-old accused of raping a six-year-old girl in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen district, has finally been nabbed! The arrest came after a fierce six-day manhunt and local protests that shook the region. According to police, Salman was spotted late Thursday night near a tea stall in Bhopal’s Gandhinagar area by some alert local youths. They quickly informed the police, who swooped in to catch him. But the drama didn't end there! When police tried to take Salman back to Raisen, he attempted a daring escape near Kiratnagar village. "He snatched the gun of a sub-inspector and tried to jump from the car," revealed Raisen Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Gupta. Salman opened fire on the police, who returned fire in self-defense and shot him in the leg. Now seriously injured, Salman is receiving treatment at Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal. This case began in Paanjara village under Gauharganj police station area where Salman allegedly abducted and raped the little girl while she was playing outside. After the horrific act, he abandoned her in a nearby forest. She managed to return home and was rushed to a government hospital, then referred to AIIMS Bhopal for better care. Thankfully, her condition is now stable, said Mr. Gupta. The incident sparked huge anger and protests across Raisen and nearby areas. On Monday, furious protesters blocked the NH-45 highway, causing massive traffic jams between Bhopal and Raisen. This public uproar forced Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to act. He held an emergency meeting with top police officials and soon after, the Raisen SP Pankaj Kumar Pandey was transferred, and a police station in-charge was suspended over mishandling the protests. Reacting to Salman’s arrest, Mr. Yadav fiercely warned, "Anybody who takes law in their hands will not be spared in my government." He added, "The government knows how to deal with those who do not believe in the system." He praised police for their quick action and assured everyone, "No one can escape our clutches." The police crackdown involved over 300 officers from several districts. They combed forests, used drones, dog squads, and conducted raids across Raisen, Sehore, Bhopal, and neighboring districts. Their hard work has eased tensions and sent a loud message that law will catch up with criminals, no matter what it takes. As this case moves forward, the community hopes Salman’s arrest brings justice and safety back to their streets.
