The Kerala High Court is raising its voice again! It is unhappy with the Kerala government for saying no three times to a CBI probe into a huge corruption case worth ₹600 crore. This scandal involves the import of raw cashew nuts from 2006 to 2015. The main accused are R. Chandrasekharan, former chairman of the Kerala State Cashew Development Corporation (KSCDC), and P.A. Ratheesh, former managing director. The court pointed out that even after denying permission thrice for the CBI investigation, the government claims it is not guilty of contempt of court. Earlier this month, the court asked a sharp question: Is the government, which promises to fight corruption and uphold the law, actually protecting people accused in this big corruption case by refusing the probe? This all started when Kadamkampally Manoj from Kollam filed a contempt plea accusing corruption in the Kerala Cashew Board's raw cashew nut imports. He also blamed the government for refusing permission for the CBI probe. The Kerala High Court had already ordered an inquiry into this scam back in 2015, considering its huge impact beyond the state. The drama continues as the matter is set for another hearing on December 8. Will justice finally catch up with the big players behind the cashew scandal? Only time will tell!
