In a troubling turn of events on Friday, November 28, an APSRTC bus carrying 25 passengers from Nuziveedu to the holy town of Srisailam lost control and overturned near Maddalakatta village in Prakasam district. The accident happened around 11:45 a.m. when the driver faltered on the bypass road, sending the bus (AP 39Z 0358) tumbling into a nearby field. Among the shaken travelers, fourteen were hurt! The bus carried a mix of people mostly from other states – seven from Kolkata, four from Bellary in Karnataka, and eight from Visakhapatnam. The wounds of this spillover were serious, with six passengers suffering fractures. Immediately, the injured were rushed to the nearby Primary Health Centre in Dornala. But the gravity of their injuries needed more expert care, so they were shifted to the Kurnool Government Hospital for better treatment. The police are not taking this lightly. A case is filed against the bus driver under Section 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for negligence. This serious charge shows that authorities want to ensure safety and accountability on our roads. This accident is a stark reminder of how critical careful driving is, especially when lives are on the line. For now, all eyes are on the injured, hoping for their quick recovery and better roads ahead.
