Kozhikode City Triumphs at 64th Revenue District School Arts Festival; Silver Hills Higher Secondary Shines Bright

The vibrant 64th Kozhikode Revenue District School Arts Festival wrapped up in style at Koyilandy on Friday, November 28. After five days of non-stop action and fierce competition across 22 venues, Kozhikode city sub-district snatched the overall championship with a dazzling 1,000 points! The mighty Silver Hills Higher Secondary School, part of the Chevayur sub-district, stayed on top as the highest scoring school, scoring an incredible 428 points.
Around 13,000 students from government and aided schools gathered under the bright spotlight. They competed fiercely in 319 different events across Upper Primary, High School, and Higher Secondary groups. Adding extra spice were the Sanskrit and Arabic arts festivals held alongside the main event, showcasing diverse talents.
The festival was a rollercoaster ride — drama contests, Oppana dances, and thrilling group dance performances kept the crowds buzzing with excitement. Though some voices raised concerns about judging faults and nepotism, and a few protests did break out, the festival’s spirit remained unshaken, attracting a flood of enthusiastic spectators.
The competition was tight! Kozhikode city sub-district led the scoreboard with 1,000 points by 9 p.m. on the final day. Close behind was Chevayur sub-district with 910 points, and Thodannur sub-district hot on their heels with 904 points.
Shining superstar Silver Hills Higher Secondary School amazed everyone by earning A grades in every one of the 90 events they entered. Their top-notch performance earned them a golden ticket to the State school arts festival in nearly 30 events! Memunda Higher Secondary School from Thodannur was a proud runner-up with 353 points, while Perambra Higher Secondary School grabbed third place with 247 points.
The 64th Kozhikode School Arts Festival was a grand celebration of talent, teamwork, and tradition. It showed why Kozhikode’s young stars continue to sparkle on stage and in competitions, promising even more excitement next year!
