Three Children Die of Fever in One Village, Medical Team Rushed In

Three children from the same family died within 48 hours after catching fever in Gularhiya Tola village, Nebua Naurangia block. Authorities sent doctors to the village to test other children for malaria and dengue. Officials are waiting for medical reports to find the exact cause.
Pintu Gaur's daughter Manju, 7, fell sick a week ago. She was treated by a local doctor but did not improve. She died on Wednesday at the district hospital. Then, his younger daughter Khushi, 3, also got a high fever. She was moved from the district hospital to BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur and died on Friday morning.
In a third tragedy, Krishna, 5, son of Gaur's elder brother Dashrath, caught fever and died while being taken to Padrauna on Friday morning.
The health department alerted by these deaths set up a medical camp in the village. Dr. Ranjan Kumar Maurya, in-charge of the Nebua Naurangia Community Health Centre, said, "The exact cause of the deaths will be confirmed only after the medical reports come."
So far, the medical team has examined 57 children in the village and tested them for malaria and dengue. Medicines were given as needed. The team also sprayed disinfectants and bleaching powder in the affected areas and urged villagers to keep their surroundings clean.
