The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Mohammad Asif, imam of the Bilali mosque, and his associate Nazar Kamal, an electrician, on Friday night in Haldwani. This arrest ties to the car blast near Delhi's Red Fort on November 10 that killed 15 people. Delhi Police received clues from Haldwani through call details linked to Dr. Umar Nabi, the main accused in the blast. The arrests were made by a joint team of NIA and police from Delhi and Haldwani. After the arrests, a large police force led by Haldwani's Superintendent of Police, Manoj Kumar Katyal, and Deputy Superintendent Deepshikha Agarwal secured the Bilali mosque and imam’s house. The NIA and Uttarakhand Police also visited a mosque in Nainital for questioning. The investigation continues as authorities tighten security in the region.
