Ravindra Das, All India Congress Committee (AICC) observer, has stated that the party will soon appoint a new president for the Vizianagaram District Congress Committee (DCC). The decision comes after a detailed review of candidates' past work, local backing, and community factors. Das held a meeting on Sunday in Gajapathinagaram, Vizianagaram district, with the current DCC president Marpi Vidyasagar, Gajapathinagaram Congress in-charge Ch. Durga Prasad, and other leaders. Speaking at the meeting, Ravindra Das said, "The party would continue to have a bright future since people were fed up with TDP, Jana Sena Party, BJP, YSRCP and others in the State." During the meeting, Ch. Durga Prasad requested that his name be considered for the DCC president post. He highlighted that the position has not yet been awarded to the Viswa Brahmin community, classified among the Backward Castes in Andhra Pradesh. Other leaders such as Saragada Ramesh Kumar and Sunkari Sathish Kumar were also present at the meeting.
