Cyclonic storm Ditwah hovered close to the north Tamil Nadu–Puducherry coast on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Moving slowly north at 5 kmph over the southwest Bay of Bengal, it kept about 80 km from the coast in the morning. The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) said Ditwah moved nearly northwards, parallel to the coast. By night, it weakened into a deep depression. By midnight, Ditwah stayed over the bay at roughly 30 km from the coastline. Looking ahead to Monday, December 1, the RMC forecast light to moderate rain in some areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry–Karaikal. Thunderstorms and lightning will hit a few places. Tiruvallur district may see heavy rain at isolated spots. Gale winds will calm down, dropping to squally speeds of 45–55 kmph with gusts up to 65 kmph by Monday morning. The sea will remain very rough but start to improve by the morning and get better thereafter, the RMC added.
