December 1, 2025
Andhra Pradesh extended welfare support to almost 65 lakh people under the NTR Bharosa pension scheme, said Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar on Monday. At a pension distribution event in Yeleswarapalem, Bapatla district, he personally handed pensions to beneficiaries at their doorsteps. He also checked how government services were reaching people. Mr. Ravi Kumar stated that the coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu set aside more than ₹34,000 crore to ensure pensions are given on time. He met villagers to review village secretariats and confirmed that welfare schemes reached all eligible families. He criticized the previous YSRCP government, saying, "Not a single spouse pension was granted earlier, however, the present government had sanctioned more than one lakh." A tractor was also provided to a local farmer under a subsidy program. The Minister added that the government offers a 90% subsidy on key farm machines and up to 100% subsidy for SC and ST farmers. The administration cleared all pending paddy procurement payments and paid farmers directly. Later, Mr. Ravi Kumar gave out 162 free bicycles to students of Mailavaram Zilla Parishad High School. He thanked NREDCAP and ASSIST for supporting this effort. Over 5,300 bicycles were provided across Addanki to boost school attendance. He said government schools were improving, with 16,300 qualified teachers recruited through DSC. Mr. Ravi Kumar also inspected the mid-day meal scheme and told officials to maintain strict quality. Parents, students, and local leaders joined the events.
