PMK Postpones Chennai Protest Against EC Decision Due to Rain
December 2, 2025
The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) has postponed the December 2 protest in Chennai. The party was set to oppose the Election Commission of India's decision to recognize Anbumani Ramadoss as the PMK president. However, heavy rains forced them to delay the event. Schools in Chennai were closed because of the weather forecast for Tuesday. PMK founder S. Ramadoss had called the protest after the EC officially confirmed Anbumani Ramadoss as the party president. On November 30, Dr. Ramadoss strongly criticized the EC’s decision, saying the commission had "betrayed" him by siding with his estranged son. The new date for the protest will be announced once the weather clears, according to the party statement.
