GBA Chief Urges Quick Clearance of Pending e-Khata Applications Across Bengaluru
December 2, 2025
Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao has instructed officials to fast-track the clearance of pending e-Khata applications in all five Bengaluru city corporations. He said that delays are causing problems for citizens and hurting revenue collection. Mr. Rao held a virtual review meeting on Monday to discuss e-Khata issuance, conversion from B-Khata to A-Khata, and property tax issues.
A special helpline, 9480683035, has been launched to handle e-Khata related complaints. "Every complaint received on the helpline is to be resolved within the stipulated period and monitored separately," Mr. Rao directed. He also ordered officials to recheck all rejected applications to confirm if the rejections were valid and to fix any mistakes.
"Immediate attention must be given to new applications and those seeking conversion from B-Khata to A-Khata," he added. Faster processing will boost revenue for the city corporations.
Special Commissioner Munish Moudgil said the helpline receives nearly 1,000 calls daily. "The issues flagged by citizens are being tracked and resolved as a priority," he explained. Mr. Moudgil emphasized that e-Khata applications should not be rejected without valid reasons. Corporation-wise reports on rejection patterns will be prepared to speed up clearances.
Additionally, commercial properties of major tax defaulters in the five corporations are being sealed to recover dues. Revision cases are also being studied to collect outstanding property taxes.
This push aims to clear backlogs and improve tax compliance in Bengaluru.
