December 2, 2025
In Jayanagar, Karnataka State Safai Karmachari Commission Chairperson P. Raghu assured pourakarmikas that their legal rights and facilities will not be compromised. Workers from Bengaluru South City Corporation raised issues like recruitment delays, lack of basic facilities, pending wages, provident fund, biometric attendance problems, and limited access to toilets and restrooms.
Mr. Raghu instructed officials to issue all pending appointment orders within a week. He also ordered that every ward and mustering point be equipped with restrooms, toilets, and drinking water. He warned that hotels refusing pourakarmikas access to toilets will face legal action.
Furthermore, he directed officials to maintain public toilets in parks and solve all salary-related technical problems immediately. These strong steps aim to improve working conditions for the sanitation workers.
