An IndiGo flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai on Tuesday morning, December 2, 2025, after a bomb threat was received. The Airbus A321, flight 6E1234, left Kuwait International Airport at 1:56 a.m. and was due to arrive at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at 8:10 a.m. However, after entering Indian airspace, the flight was redirected as a safety measure. The plane landed safely at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) around 7:40 a.m. RGIA Inspector S. Kanakaiah said, "An email warning of an explosive device was sent to the GMR airport authorities at around 5:15 a.m., prompting the immediate diversion of the flight 6E1234." Security teams conducted thorough checks after landing, and the threat was confirmed to be a hoax. Hyderabad airport officials alerted relevant authorities promptly upon receiving the email. A case has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing to identify who sent the threat. IndiGo has yet to release an official statement on the incident.
