At least 15 passengers, including women, escaped with minor injuries after a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus hit a house in Chitteri village near Arani, Tiruvannamalai, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The government bus was traveling from Vellore to Villupuram on Arani - Chetpet Main Road. The driver, S. Vijayakumar (35), lost control when a two-wheeler rider, S. Murugan (31), suddenly turned left. The bus crashed into a house near a bus stop around 10 a.m. The bedroom of the house collapsed, but the house was empty at the time. Two women on the terrace were unhurt. Murugan was badly injured. Passersby and motorists helped the injured and took them to Government Taluk Hospital in Arani. Police registered a case and are investigating. Later, Arani MP M.S. Dharani Vendhan from the DMK visited the site and gave ₹1 lakh to the family of the late house owner, S. Kuppan.
