A high-level German delegation visited the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) office in Bengaluru on December 2. They came to see KSRTC’s work on inclusive mobility. The group included officials from the German embassy and GIZ (German Corporation for International Cooperation). The visitors experienced "Dhwani Spandana–OnBoard," an audio-navigation system that helps visually impaired commuters use buses more easily. This system improves accessibility for blind and visually impaired passengers. KSRTC Managing Director Akram Pasha briefed the team and shared details about the project’s national award. The Raised Lines Foundation developed the system. It was scaled with GIZ under the Green Urban Mobility Innovation initiative. The audio system is currently in use on KSRTC and Mysuru city buses. The German delegation was led by Director General Christine Toetzke. She praised KSRTC’s leadership in adopting smart, user-friendly transport technology. The visit highlights KSRTC’s role in making public transport more accessible and inclusive.
