On December 2, 2025, at 12:05 a.m., a 77-year-old man named P. Jayamani from Teynampet, Chennai, nearly had a fatal accident at Salem railway junction. While trying to board the moving Train No. 12623 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Superfast Express on platform number 4, he slipped and got trapped between the platform and the train.
