The two-day Hanuma Mala Visarjana at Anjanadri Hills, the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, ended on Wednesday with thousands of devotees taking part. The event started on Tuesday and attracted Hanuma Mala bearers from all over India. Devotees took holy dips early Wednesday and climbed to the hilltop shrine, chanting “Sri Ram Jaya Ram” and “Pavanasuta Anjaneya Jai.” Long queues formed at the foothills and steps as people waited patiently for Lord Anjaneya’s darshan. Many walked in groups while others came by two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and buses. The district administration made thorough arrangements. Health teams were placed along the route for safety. Prasada, including wheat huggi, rice, sambar, and tomato chutney, was served at the Veda Pathashala premises. Multiple counters helped avoid crowding and provided quick service. Traffic and parking were well managed to prevent jams. Police, revenue, and health officials worked together to monitor the event. Deputy Commissioners checked the setup regularly to ensure all committees worked smoothly. The shrine and nearby areas were decorated with flowers and colorful lights. After dusk, Anjanadri shone with vibrant colors. Loudspeakers around a two-kilometer radius played continuous chants of Rama nama. This year’s event banned plastic completely for environmental protection. Temporary tents and resting spots were made for those arriving on foot. Nearby villages offered annaprasada to pilgrims. Sanitation teams kept the route clean, and CCTV cameras watched key points to keep the crowd safe. Anticipating large crowds, the district ensured enough drinking water, bathing areas, parking, food counters, transport, helplines, medical help, and police presence. The Koppal police launched a “Hanuma Mala Route Map–2025” website giving live updates to the public. Officials credited the event’s success to joint efforts from Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and various public representatives. Deputy Commissioner Suresh B. Itnal, ZP CEO Varnit Negi, Superintendent of Police Ram L. Arasidddi, Additional DC Sidhrameshwara, Koppal Sub-Divisional Officer Capt. Mahesh Malagitti, and committee members closely oversaw all activities to ensure the Hanuma Mala Visarjana concluded peacefully and efficiently.
