Dubai has joined the Global Resilient Cities Network, marking a major step in its efforts to prepare for future challenges and lead in sustainable urban development. It is now the first city in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to join this global coalition focused on resilience and growth.

He said, "Dubai’s participation reflects the emirate’s growth as a leader in risk management and resilience." Sheikh Mansoor added that Dubai aims to remain one of the "safest, most sustainable, and most innovative cities in the world."
Ahmad Atiq Bourqibah, Executive Manager of the Dubai Resilience Centre, said this step is "a defining point in Dubai’s journey toward becoming one of the most future ready cities." He highlighted new opportunities for Dubai to work with global experts and cities, adopting best practices in urban resilience and service sustainability. Bourqibah explained the network will foster joint innovation using smart tech to tackle risk and resilience challenges.
Dubai aims to transform challenges into opportunities, building a resilient system that supports continuous growth even through rapid changes.
As a member of the global network, Dubai plans to share its expertise, encourage other cities to join, and support international efforts for future-ready urban innovation and sustainability.
