UAE enters cooler spell with fog and rain as NCM issues weather warnings
December 4, 2025
The United Arab Emirates is experiencing a sharp drop in temperatures driven by a northerly system linked to the Siberian high-pressure area, announced the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). Temperatures are expected to fall by about six degrees Celsius compared to November, especially impacting inland and mountainous areas. The weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with chances of light rain mainly over islands and western coastal regions overnight into Friday. Winds will be light to moderate, blowing 10 to 20 km/h, reaching up to 30 km/h. Sea conditions remain calm.
NCM warns of increased humidity causing fog in early mornings and late nights, reducing visibility sharply on roads. Motorists are advised to drive carefully, especially on inland highways.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's NCM issued alerts for unstable weather in nine regions, including Makkah, Madinah, and Aseer, warning of light rain with thunderstorm risk. Dense fog reduces visibility drastically in the Eastern Region and light fog affects Jazan. The public is urged to follow safety guidelines amid challenging driving conditions caused by poor visibility and changing weather.
These changes signal a notable transition from autumn to winter in the Gulf, demanding vigilant attention from residents and travelers alike.
