Two students from P.D.A. College of Engineering, Kalaburagi, have won the Best Poster Award at an international event held at IIT Bombay. Shekhar Rathod and Shashi Bhushan Sthawarmath, fifth-semester students of the Department of Ceramic and Cement Technology, presented their research at the International Conference on Research Advancement and Industrial Challenges in Glass and Ceramics 2025. This conference was jointly organised by IIT Bombay and the Indian Ceramic Society. Their poster, titled ‘Synthesis of Tin Cobalt Aluminum Doped Zinc Oxide Nano Powders by Solution Combustion Synthesis and their Photo Catalytic Applications’, showcased their innovative work on advanced nano-materials and their potential in photo-catalysis. The research was guided by Baburao N. Sherikar, Professor at their college. The win received applause from the Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society leadership. HKES President Shashil G. Namoshi and other officials, including the college principal Siddarama Patil and department head Veeresh P. Mallapur, congratulated the students. Several faculty members also praised them for bringing recognition to their department. College authorities stated, "The award reflects the growing research culture at P.D.A. College and the increasing participation of its students in national and international academic forums."
