Serendipity Arts Festival (SAF) in Goa has completed 10 years, becoming a key cultural event. Founded by Sunil Kant Munjal in 2016, it started small but now covers 22 venues and over 250 projects. SAF blends visual arts, music, dance, theatre, culinary arts, craft, and photography. It attracts thousands of artists and visitors every December. The festival transforms Panjim’s heritage sites into vibrant cultural spaces. Notable features include immersive dining at new venues, a tribute concert for tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, and the launch of Munjal’s book 'Table for Four.' Curator Thomas Zacharias presents an installation themed on climate change, combining taste and storytelling. SAF champions accessibility with ramps, Braille, and sign language. Despite its success, some locals seek more Goan representation and worry about ticketing limiting access. The festival also works to restore historic buildings and support local artisans. SAF is now expanding to cities like Delhi, Ahmedabad, and even Paris before returning to Goa. Munjal emphasizes culture needs both permanent spaces and fleeting public celebrations. His upcoming cultural hub, The Brij in Delhi, will support year-round arts learning, complementing SAF’s lively annual festival. Serendipity Arts Festival remains a space where traditions meet modern creativity, shaping Goa as a cultural destination.
