Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced he will visit Osmania University on December 10 to inspect the academic blocks and hostels. He directed officials to prioritise the views of students and teaching staff while planning major development projects at the campus. On December 5, Mr. Reddy reviewed proposals from a high-power committee led by Advisor K. Keshava Rao at his Hyderabad residence. The committee presented plans for new hostel buildings, academic blocks, roads, and an auditorium. Mr. Reddy suggested important changes, saying, "All new structures should be planned to prevent future inconvenience to students and staff." He also instructed that each hostel and academic block should have at least 10% more capacity than current needs. Highlighting a balance between modernisation and heritage preservation, Mr. Reddy said, "Historically significant buildings must be preserved. Old structures without heritage value should not receive heavy renovation spending." He asked for priority on new, functional facilities. He also stressed amenities such as cycle tracks, walking paths, and symbols that honour OU students’ legacy and struggles. The Chief Minister advised using urban forestry funds for the university’s forest areas and called for creating new water resources while conserving existing ones. Mr. Reddy demanded that all development plans be shown to the campus community. Drop boxes and a dedicated website should be set up to collect their opinions. The review meeting included Education Principal Secretary Yogita Rana, Commissioner of Technical Education Sridevasena, OU Vice Chancellor Molugaram Kumar, College of Arts and Science Principal C. Kasim, CM’s advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Special Secretary Ajith Reddy, and others.
