Thiruvananthapuram district will hold local body elections on December 9, 2025, with 3,264 polling stations set up. Special stations include 'model', 'pink', and 'young' categories to improve voter comfort and engagement. '"Model" stations provide wheelchairs, seating, drinking water, toilets, and first-aid facilities. Patients, pregnant women, elderly, and differently abled voters get priority. First-time voters receive a warm welcome at these stations. 'Pink' stations are run by women officers and decorated with pink balloons, curtains, and tablecloths to ensure easy identification. 'Young' stations are managed by young polling officers and feature special selfie points for voters after they cast their votes. In the district's four municipalities, each will have one model, two pink, and one young station, for a total of two model, eight pink, and four young stations. This initiative aims to make voting accessible and enjoyable for all citizens.
