On December 4, 2025, Central Railway announced restrictions on platform ticket sales at 13 major stations. This move aims to manage heavy crowds on Mahaparinirvan Diwas, observed on December 6, the death anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The restrictions will be in place from December 5 to December 7. Thousands gather at Chaityabhoomi in Dadar to pay respect to the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. The railways clarified that some exceptions would apply. "Persons accompanying aged persons, senior citizens, ailing persons, children, illiterate persons and women passengers unable to fend for themselves will be able to buy platform tickets." In Mumbai, the restriction will affect Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Dadar stations. Other stations include Bhusaval, Nashik Road, Manmad, Jalgaon, Akola, Shegaon, Pachora, Badnera, Malkapur, Chalisgaon, and Nagpur.
