Southern Railway has taken quick action to help passengers affected by widespread flight cancellations. On December 6, 2025, it announced special trains and extra coaches to ease travel pressure. The special train 06019 from Chennai Egmore to Hyderabad Charlapalli leaves at 11:55 p.m. on December 6 and arrives at 2 p.m. on December 7. Its return, train 06020, departs Charlapalli at 6 p.m. on December 7 and reaches Chennai Egmore by 8:30 a.m. on December 8. Additionally, Southern Railway is adding one AC three-tier coach to trains like Tiruchchirappalli – Jodhpur Humsafar Express, Dr MGR Chennai Central – Thiruvananthapuram Central Superfast Express, and Mumbai CST – Chennai Beach Superfast Express. These changes will be effective from December 6 to December 10 to meet increased passenger demand caused by flying disruptions nationwide.
