Chinese Premier Li Qiang has launched the construction of a 1.2 trillion yuan mega-dam in Tibet, overlooking concerns about potential damage to biodiversity and impacts on relations with neighboring India. The hydropower project, situated on the Yarlung Tsangpo river, is three times bigger than the renowned Three Gorges Dam. The establishment of the China Yajiang Group to oversee the dam's development further demonstrates China's dedication to clean energy initiatives and economic growth.
