IMA Dean Urges Young Doctors to Sharpen Skills at GPCON-2025 Conference

The Indian Medical Association’s College of General Practitioners (IMA-CGP) held its two-day national conference, GPCON-2025, in Vizianagaram. Dr. V.S. Prasad, Dean of the college, urged young doctors to enhance both their medical knowledge and communication skills. He said, “Both are equally important for quality treatment and patients confidence.” Dr. Prasad, along with organising committee chairman M. Venkateswara Rao, gave certificates and mementoes to doctors who presented on topics like the role of physicians, primary care benefits, family practice futures, and doctor-patient relationships.
Dr. Prasad added that the college, based in Chennai, has been running academic programs since 1963 to keep young doctors updated and confident. IMA-Vizianagaram president V. Ashok and secretary Lenka Srinivas highlighted that family doctors remain vital despite growing technology in healthcare. The event also featured leaders like Andhra Pradesh Nursing Homes-Vizianagaram president B. Mahendra Giri and GPCON-2025 officials A. Madhukar and B.S.S. Srinivas.
