A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Delhi High Court on Monday, December 8, 2025. It asks the Centre and IndiGo to provide proper refunds and support for passengers stuck due to the IndiGo flight cancellation crisis. The case is scheduled for hearing on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The petition was presented before a bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela. The petitioner's lawyer said, "Several people are stuck. The ground situation at airports is inhumane. We are expecting the court to pass orders to IndiGo and ground support staff for people stranded at the airports. There is no proper system for refunds." The court noted that the government has already given some directions, which the counsel accepted. Still, the PIL seeks stronger action. On Monday, IndiGo cancelled more than 250 flights from Delhi and Bengaluru airports. At Delhi airport, 134 flights were cancelled — 75 departures and 59 arrivals. Bengaluru airport saw 117 cancellations — 65 arrivals and 62 departures. This disruption is now in its seventh day. IndiGo has blamed regulatory changes in pilot flight duty and regulation norms for the cancellations. Passengers and the government have criticized the airline for the chaos. This PIL aims to ensure passengers get proper refunds and decent support during this crisis.
