Cold Wave Alert Issued for Seven Telangana Districts on December 9

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave alert for seven Telangana districts for Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Cold wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets of Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancheiral, Nirmal, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy.
Hyderabad and nearby areas can expect partly cloudy skies over the next 24 hours. According to the IMD bulletin, “Mist and hazy conditions are very likely to prevail during morning and night hours. The minimum temperatures are likely to be below by 2°C to 3°C during the next two days. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 31°C and 13°C respectively.”
Meanwhile, the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) reported that between December 7 and 8 mornings, twelve districts recorded temperatures below 10°C. Kohir in Sangareddy district had the lowest temperature at 7.2°C.
Other low temperatures recorded include 7.8°C at Bantwaram (Vikarabad), 7.9°C at Bheempoor (Adilabad), 8.2°C at Nasrullabad (Kamareddy) and Tiryani (Kumaram Bheem Asifabad), 8.4°C at Shivampet (Medak), Kotgiri (Nizamabad), and University of Hyderabad (Rangareddy), 8.9°C at Akbarpet (Siddipet), 9°C at Pembi (Nirmal), 9.2°C at Rudrangi (Rajanna Sircilla), and 9.9°C at Kathlapur (Jagtial).
The remaining 21 districts recorded minimum temperatures between 10°C and 15°C. Ghatkesar in Medchal Malkajgiri observed 10.2°C, and Bahadurpura in Hyderabad registered 13.1°C.
