Three Cases Filed After CPI(M)-BJP Clash Over Vanchiyoor Election Fraud Claims
December 10, 2025
The Vanchiyoor police have registered three cases linked to a clash between CPI(M) and BJP workers during the local body elections on Tuesday. BJP workers accused the CPI(M) of arranging bogus votes at a Vanchiyoor ward polling station. Two cases were filed based on complaints from BJP activists. Meanwhile, one case was registered against BJP workers for allegedly assaulting a group of transgender people. BJP leaders claimed there was widespread election fraud in Vanchiyoor and demanded re-polling. However, the CPI(M) dismissed the charges, stating, "the transgender people involved in the issue were legitimate voters listed in the ward’s electoral roll."
