The cold wave in Telangana will continue as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a cold wave alert for 12 districts on Friday, December 12, 2025. Tiryani in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad recorded the lowest temperature of 5.4°C between Wednesday and Thursday mornings. The alert covers Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Mahbubabad, Jangaon, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy. Other low temperatures include 6.1°C in Bheempoor, Adilabad; 6.4°C in Moinabad, Rangareddy; 6.5°C in Jharasangam, Sangareddy; and 7.0°C in Akbarpet-Bhoompally, Siddipet. According to Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), temperatures dipped below 10°C in 26 districts. In Hyderabad region, Medchal-Malkajgiri recorded 8.8°C and Hyderabad city saw 11°C. The IMD warns that on Friday, the city and surrounding areas may have mist or haze during mornings and nights. The IMD stated, "Minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 2°C to 3°C during the next 3 days. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 29°C and 12°C respectively." Residents are advised to prepare for continued chilly weather.
