The Rachakonda Police Commissionerate recorded a 15.4% increase in overall crime in 2025 compared to 2024, according to its annual report released on December 22, 2025. Total cases rose from 28,626 in 2024 to 33,040 in 2025, an increase of 4,414 cases. The rise was mainly due to bodily and other offences rising from 22,357 to 27,342. Kidnapping cases also increased from 463 to 579. However, property crimes like robbery, house burglary, and automobile theft decreased. Road safety showed mixed results. Total accidents increased from 3,207 in 2024 to 3,488 in 2025, up 8.8%. Fatal accidents slightly dropped from 624 to 621, but deaths rose marginally from 653 to 659. Injuries increased from 3,003 to 3,219. Accidents on Outer Ring Road went up sharply from 52 to 76 cases, with fatal accidents rising from 19 to 26 despite enforcement efforts. Cyber crime cases fell by 19%, from 4,618 in 2024 to 3,734 in 2025. Recovery for cyber fraud victims improved with ₹40.10 crore refunded. Major issues included investment fraud, part-time job scams, unauthorized transactions, APK frauds, and digital arrest scams. Police ran cyber awareness programs reaching over 100,000 people. Crime against women grew by 4%. Yet, serious offences such as dowry murders, abetment to suicide, and rape declined. Rape cases fell from 384 to 330. Dowry deaths dropped from 18 to 12. Abetment to suicide also decreased. Domestic violence cases sharply fell from 1,222 to 782. On the other hand, molestation and POCSO cases rose from 953 to 1,224, highlighting ongoing challenges in these crimes. Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu said policing focused on the VQT principle: visible presence, quick response, and technology-led initiatives. He said, "Serving a vast area of 5,122 sq. km. and a population of 64 lakh citizens, we have demonstrated that effective, humane policing can transcend scale and complexity." He highlighted operational results: 33,040 cases registered, 25,643 disposed, a 78% disposal rate. "The execution of 4,121 non-bailable warrants (NBW) to achieve Zero-NBW status underscores strong legal follow-through. Further, 144 convictions in contested cases, including 31 life sentences, send a clear deterrent message and reinforce public confidence," he said. Commissioner Babu added that proactive prevention helped reduce property crimes by nearly 15% via visible policing including bicycle patrols and City Armed Reserve forces. Narcotics seizures exceeded ₹20.01 crore. Police also dismantled interstate child trafficking and illegal organ trade rings, rescuing 16 infants.
