Man Arrested for Showing Nazi Tattoos at Newcastle Beach
December 28, 2025
A 36-year-old man was arrested for displaying Nazi hate symbols on his tattoos at Bar Beach, Newcastle, on December 24. Ben Parsons, a local father, spotted the tattoos linked to white supremacist groups, including the Nazi SS logo. Parsons said, "He was speaking really loudly and just kind of being pretty obnoxious." The man showed a large white power tattoo on his calf and an SS emblem near his ankle. Parsons took photos and reported the incident to Crime Stoppers and NSW Police. The man made a white power sign before leaving the beach. Police arrested him at his home in Urunga near Coffs Harbour at 6:30 pm on Saturday. He was charged with "knowingly display by public act, Nazi symbol without excuse" and "causing a prohibited Nazi symbol to be displayed in a public place." The man was granted strict conditional bail and will appear in Newcastle Local Court on January 22, 2026. Parsons urged people to stand against racism and fascism, saying, "We all need to be the best Australians we can be at the moment and show solidarity and unity and call out racism and fascism when we see it."
