In a disturbing update from Faridabad, the 25-year-old woman who was gang raped this week was assaulted inside a private hospital's ambulance, not a van as earlier thought. A senior police officer confirmed on Sunday (January 4, 2026) that both accused men worked as driver and helper for the private hospital ambulance. The two men, one from Mathura and the other from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh, have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. The victim is still in hospital six days after the attack. A video surfaced where she says, "I did not know them before. As soon as I sat in the car, one of them transferred ₹600 to my PayTM account, and then they locked the car and snatched my mobile. There was dense fog at night. I cried out loud, but there was no help." Police have not verified this video yet. After she recovers, the woman will take part in an identification parade before a magistrate. The accused will also be produced from jail for further questioning. According to police reports, on December 29, 2025, after visiting a friend's house in Sector 23, Faridabad, the woman was heading home late at night. She took an auto-rickshaw to NIT 2 Chowk then walked to Metro Chowk. There and around midnight, two men offered her a ride. Instead of taking her home, they drove toward Gurugram, and inside the moving ambulance, they raped her. The men drove around all night, then threw her out near Raja Chowk at 3 a.m. on December 30. The survivor was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
