Russia launched overnight air strikes on Kyiv province, killing two people on Monday, Ukrainian officials said. Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's military administration, reported one death in the capital. Mykola Kalashnyk, Kyiv regional governor, said a man in his 70s died in the nearby city of Fastiv. "One person has been killed so far as a result of the attack. The attack is continuing," Tkachenko said on Telegram. These strikes come as Russia intensifies attacks on Ukraine. Meanwhile, Kyiv and its allies work on a US-backed plan to end Europe's deadliest conflict since World War II. The violence followed deadly drone strikes on Russian border regions over the weekend. On Sunday, two people died in the Belgorod and Kursk regions. Belgorod governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said a drone hit a car, killing one and wounding two, including a child. Kursk governor Alexander Khinshtein confirmed one killed in a drone strike on a village. Ukrainian drone strikes also wounded three people in the Kharkiv region. Alongside the conflict, diplomatic talks continue. National security advisers from Europe and other allies visited Kyiv to discuss security and economic support. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said peace talks may speed up after Ukraine shared key security documents with 18 advisers. Ukrainian military leaders are set to meet in Paris Monday, with European leaders meeting the next day. Zelenskyy hopes to finalize security guarantees and discuss them with US representatives during these talks.
