Other cities reported lows as follows: Ambala 9.2°, Rohtak 7.6°, Bhiwani 4.8°, and Karnal 7.2° Celsius. Chandigarh, the joint capital of both states, recorded 7.8° Celsius. The IMD noted severe cold in Chandigarh Sunday, with a high of 12° Celsius—six degrees below normal. Over the past days, many places in Haryana and Punjab experienced sharp drops in daytime temperatures, worsening the cold wave.
